BBC Maestro, a series of expert tutorial videos and course notes, has announced the forthcoming addition of author and comics writer Alan Moore to its portfolio of creative guides.

“Lift up your quills and welcome one of the world’s most gifted storytellers,” we’re advised on the BBC Maestro site. “His worlds and characters dazzle with their originality, and his stories are filled with energy and intrigue – V for Vendetta, Watchmen and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen to name but a few.

“This Maestro of storytelling is here to inspire you to create your own magical wonderlands with commitment to the craft of language, story, cast, setting and more.”

BBC Maestro aims to educate and inspire people to explore their creativity with online courses taught by experts. The project has curated top talents in various fields, who deliver video courses to teach you everything you need to know to follow in their footsteps.

Each individual course can be bought with a one-off payment, with over twenty videos released so far, including presentations by authors such as Young Adult author Marjorie Blackman, children’s book author Julia Donaldson, Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio, and children’s author and actor David Walliams.

Alan Moore is a writer most famous for his influential work in comics, including the acclaimed graphic novels Watchmen, V for Vendetta and From Hell. He has also written numerous novels, including Jerusalem and Voice of the Fire, and performs “workings” (one-off performance art/spoken word pieces) with The Moon and Serpent Grand Egyptian Theatre of Marvels, some of which have been released on CD.
