Titan Comics Free Comic Book Day 2018 Doctor Who – Forbidden Planet Variant

Simon will be signing the special giveaway at Forbidden Planet London on Free Comic Book Day, Saturday 5th May, alongside Rachael Stott and George Mann between 1 – 2.00pm.

The “regular” cover available in both UK and US stores features below together with details of creators involved.

The all-new Doctor Who line up from Titan Comics starts with this “#0” and features the first chapter in the new Tenth and Eleventh Doctor sagas, and offers tantalising glimpses from across the Doctor Who comics universe, including your first look at the Thirteenth Doctor in comics.

Doctor Who isn’t the only property to get the Free Comic Book Day treatment of course, which many UK comic shops take part in. The day – which organisers hope encourages new readers into stores worldwide – has a huge number of free comics on offer, including a 2000AD special, and many titles from the leading US publishers such as DC and Marvel.

John Freeman

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.

He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
