John Patrick Reynolds offers limited edition Brooklands screenprints

Brooklands has been at the centre of British motor racing and aero industries for more than 100 years, and its history is being celebrated in new limited edition screenprints from John Patrick Reynolds.

Brooklands describes itself as “the birthplace of British motorsport, aviation and home of Concorde” and John has created two screenprints, now available in a brand new format, printed on lovely 300gsm Fabriano paper, each 60cmx x 44cms in size.

Signed and numbered out of 100 by John Patrick Reynolds, for an introductory period, they are at the price of just £99 unframed or £149 framed in a plain black wooden frame.

Based in London, John was the first screenprinter to get permission from Britain’s top comic publisher, DC Thomson, to use images from its archive of British comic characters from The Beano’s Dennis the Menace, The Bash Street Kids and Minnie the Minx to The Dandy’s Desperate Dan and the Sunday Post’s Oor Wullie and The Broons.

He’s also the only screenprinter in the UK to work with French publisher Editions Albert Réné to make screenprints of its characters Asterix, Obelix, Getafix and Ideefix, not forgetting the dog Dogmatix.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.

He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
