Reeltime Pictures announce latest Doctor Who-themed documentary special, more details for “Myth Makers Live” in March

Reeltime Pictures latest documentary special, the first in their series of productions about the “classic” Doctor Who exhibitions, will be released on Monday 4th April 2022.

Doctor on Display – The Museum of Classic Sci-Fi is an in-depth look at life-long science fiction fan, artist and musician Neil Cole‘s amazing museum, in Allendale, Northumberland – how it came about and the incredible work that has gone into its development, all leading to its reopening by Sophie Aldred (who plays Ace in Doctor Who) last November.

Featured on the Netflix show Amazing Interiors, The Museum of Classic Sci-Fi is a meticulously curated, small museum, packed with fascinating unique items from the worlds of science-fiction history and classic era Doctor Who. Despite its “small museum” tag, you will actually find far more exhibits on display than in many much larger establishments – and every item has been painstakingly researched, preserved and displayed by museum creator/curator Neil Cole.

Items include the original Zygon “Broton” from the 1975 Doctor Who: Terror of the Zygons, complete surviving “Cyberscout” from Attack of the Cybermen, Chris Hemsworth’s screen-worn Thor armour 2012’s The Avengers – and even a surviving Flash Gordon helmet, dating from 1940!

The new DVD will be launched at Myth Makers Live at the Colour House in London on the 26th March and will be offered early to those lucky attendees – and at a discounted price. (Tickets for the event have sold out).

Neil Cole will be at the event to sign copies of the DVD with host Sophie Aldred for fans … and to promote the exhibition. Also in attendance with be actor Dan Starkey, who played the Sontaran, Strax, in Doctor Who.

John Freeman

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.

He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
