Revolutionary poet Otto René Castillo celebrated in new comic from ILYA

Ed Hillyer – also known as ILYA – is providing a series of “Cartoon History” strips for New Internationalist magazine, some available to read online.

Covering a variety of subjects, the latest sets ‘Apolitical Intellectuals’ to a modern tune, as he remembers the life of the Guatemalan revolutionary poet Otto René Castillo.

Writer and comic ILYA, the creator of the award-winning graphic novel series The End of the Century Club, has more than 30 years experience as a comic book writer, artist and editor, published internationally by Marvel, DC and Dark Horse in the USA, Kodansha in Japan, and numerous independent companies worldwide.
