Sneak Peek: ComicScene Issue Three, on sale in two weeks!

Issue 3 of ComicScene – released Thursday 25th April – celebrates Free Comic Day on 4th May with a look at the free Funny Pages comic from Rebellion and Doctor Who from Titan Comics, including an interview with creator Jody Houser.

Commando publisher DC Thomson provide the magazine with an exclusive behind the scenes feature on the design and development of the cover for the new Heritage Comics book The Art of Ian Kennedy – snd there’s an interview with Ian, too.

The final part of a three part series on the first ten years of Marvel UK ends, including a look at the early work of Alan Moore, Hulk Weekly, Doctor Who Weekly and Star Wars.

For all you Marvel fans, particularly of Captain Marvel, there’s an interview with writer Roy Thomas ahead of his Portsmouth ComicCon appearance (also previewed) and an item on the new War of the Realms.

If DC Comics are your thing then you’ll probably enjoy a look back at Batman in the 1950s, in a continuing look at 80 Years of the Dark Knight. (Pick up your back issues for parts One and Two of this series in the magazine’s new online shop

The Corker! section of the issue takes a look at Rebellion’s all-new Cor!! and Buster Humour Special, out next Wednesday, and artist Lew Stringer takes a personal look at the strip he drew for the comic with writer John Freeman.

The magazine also has its own comic strips, including “Whackoman!” and the second part of “Our Land” – yup, the aliens are coming… don’t miss part one of the story, in ComicScene Issue Two, which you can get in shops now.

Indie comics are the focus of a nine-page State of Independents section, including Space Captain and the Misty-inspired Bite Me!

Pat Mills also begins his journey producing a 2000AD for the 21st Century – Space Warp.

Finally, coverage of the latest comic-inspired TV and film continues, including a look at early storyboards for Game of Thrones and the new Avengers: Endgame movie.
