The Kickstarter for the second Frank Frazetta Gallery volume, Warriors, has just launched from American Hero Press. Buoyed by the critical success of the first, Terror, published last year, it’s already smashed its initial funding goal.
On offer is the second of four tribute collections to the master of fantasy art — oversized, full-colour, and unforgettable.
Frank Frazetta is considered to be one of the most renowned illustrators of the 20th century, primarily for his science fiction and fantasy art that appeared across a variety of mediums including comic books, paperback book covers, paintings, posters, and LP record album covers.
His powerful, iconic science fiction and fantasy work isn’t just admired, but unforgettable to fans of the genre. His art inspired thousands of artists throughout the world until his passing in 2010. Even today, his influence is as outsized and lasting as his talent and imagination.
Last year, the first volume in this series, Terror, highlighted Frank Frazetta’s unforgettable visions of horror. Now, the second volume, Warriors, showcases the legendary works that established Frazetta as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

“In his heydey, it was said that having a Frazetta cover on your paperback would double your sales.”
– George RR Martin, author of the A Song of Ice and Fire series, aka Game of Thrones
Savage barbarians, battle-hardened champions, fearsome demons, and mysterious sorcerers – all brought vividly to life through Frank’s unmatched imagination and intensity. These masterpieces have become some of the most celebrated images in fantasy art. The classics are here, along with the legendary “Death Dealer”, a character who has become a symbol of his legacy.

These are the works most recognised by fans, and most sought after by collectors around the world.
The Kickstarter campaign, which began on 5th September, gives all fans of great illustration a chance to be the first to pledge for this “must-have” volume of Frazetta classics.
Warriors will be available in softcover, hardcover and limited, slipcased editions.
“Not that I could ever redo Frazetta on film — he created a world and a mood that are impossible to simulate — but my goal in Conan the Barbarian was to tell a story that was shaped by Frazetta and Wagner.”
– John Milius (Director, Conan The Barbarian, co-writer Apocalypse Now)
The Introduction to the Warriors volume comes from Frankie Frazetta, grandson of Frank Frazetta and curator of The Frazetta Art Museum in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, which contains the largest collection of Frazetta originals in the world.
Frankie’s goal is the ongoing preservation of the work of his grandfather and maintaining accessibility for all his fans to visit.

Warriors also features a foreword by Simon Bisley, along with observant appreciations from artists Bill Sienkiewicz, Petar Mesaldzija, Liam Sharp, Jodi Muir; writer Jim Zub; Museum Curator Jesse Kowalski; and Frazetta documentary filmmaker Lance LaSpina to bring a more personal context to the work. Additional sketches, roughs and photos round out the rich dive into perhaps the most important segment of the master’s achievements.
Details about each of the three pledge tiers, as well as stretch goals can be found on the The Frazetta Gallery Series, Book 2: Warriors Kickstarter page.
A limited number of copies of the first volume, Terror, will also be available as an add-on for Kickstarter supporters.

No matter how many Frazetta books or prints you own or how good the printing is for any of them, there is nothing like seeing the original art up close. That opportunity awaits at Frazetta Museum in East Stroudsburg, PA. Plan a visit and/or at least visit the museum store online for purchases to support the ongoing preservation efforts.
