This Friday sees the launch of veteran 2000AD artist Ian Gibson’s SF comic project, Lifeboat, which is being brought to life through an upcoming crowdfunding campaign by The77 Publications, publishers of The77 anthology, Pandora, and This Comic is Haunted.
Join Steve Bull and Ben Cullis from The77 Publications on Facebook for a special live event, as as they bring you all the latest on Ian Gibson’s eagerly-awaited book Lifeboat, which the co-creator of “The Ballad of Halo Jones” has been working on for several years.
The story revolves around the idea, “What if Romeo and Juliet had had a child?” with a ‘space’ version of the American War of Independence, where asteroid mining colonies are trying to break free from the Empire, and Ian has teased fans with a number of incredible pages for quite a while!
The Lifeboat launch show starts at 9.00pm, and there will be a run down of what to expect and the rewards available from the Kickstarter campaign to finally bring Ian’s SF adventure to life.
“Who loves the work of Ian Gibson?” says Ben. “Unfortunately, due to ill health, Ian hasn’t produced work for 2000AD for a number of years.
“The77 are extremely proud to be publishing his latest work. We would love you to support this project that will be launching this coming Friday.”
