An online course about writing comics launches later this month run by David Hine, veteran writer and editor for Marvel, DC, Rebellion and more, offering guidance on how to craft comics that hit the page the way readers want to flip it.
The course, offered via elvtr.com, guides you through ideation, dialogue, narrative structure, and script polish, with hands-on practice that turns your story ideas into full, professional scripts.

David Hine is the comic writer behind Spider-Man Noir and acclaimed Marvel/DC titles, with award-nominated works and stories spanning film, games, and global bestsellers. You’ll also have seen his work in 2000AD, on strips such as “Void Runners”, illustrated by Boo Cook, and as writer of graphic novels such as The Man Who Laughs, created with Mark Stafford.
If you’re feeling lost in a sea of freelancers, or Struggling to get noticed by major publishers, or navigating rejection after rejection, this comic book writing course gives you a professional portfolio, direct mentorship from David Hine, and guidance on how to network properly. By the end, you’ll have a 20-page comic script and a pitch package that opens doors rather than closes them.
The 13 live classes over seven weeks comprising nine assignments, including six case studies and four workshops, building to one final project. It includes career guidance.
ELVTR is disrupting education by putting proven industry leaders in a virtual classroom with eager rising stars.
