The next volume of Columbo DVDs is due out in the UK on 31 March.
The Season 8 box set comprises the four episodes which made up the 1989 season – at the time of broadcast they were the first Columbo episodes to be made and shown since 1978.
Featuring top guest stars including Anthony Andrews, the four stories are ‘Columbo Goes to the Guillotine’, ‘Murder, Smoke and Shadows’, ‘Sex and the Married Detective’ and ‘Grand Deceptions’.
Columbo, whose cast and crew include scifi cult names such as Patrick McGoohan, continues to be extremely popular in the UK – in the last few weeks ITV1, Channel 4, Hallmark, Movies24 and Channel 5 have all shown episodes. Quite right too!
