Riverside Studios and the Doctor Who Appreciation Society have joined forces for a special event, Projections in Time – Resurrection of the Daleks, on Sunday 14th September 2025.
Head to the what were the famous Hammersmith Studios and back to 1984, for a classic encounter between the Fifth Doctor and his deadliest adversaries, joined by Peter Davison, Janet Fielding (whose stories played his companion, Tegan), Mark Strickson (Turlough) and story guest stars Terry Molloy (Davros), Rula Lenska (Styles), and director Matthew Robinson.
A prison ship deep in space is attacked by a Dalek force. Their mission – to release their creator, Davros, from cryogenic suspension. The Doctor is soon embroiled in a perilous struggle to thwart the resurrection of a new Dalek army. Not even the omnipotent Time Lords are safe…

The Doctor Who Appreciation Society (DWAS) has nearly 30 thousand followers across the globe. The Society offers a free online quarterly magazine, Celestial Toyroom, which itself is the longest running Doctor Who magazine currently in existence, and everyone is welcome to contribute. They regularly offer publications and DWAS organised conventions and events.

John is the founder of downthetubes, launched in 1998. He is a comics and magazine editor, writer, and Press Officer for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He also runs Crucible Comic Press.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine and Overkill for Marvel UK, Babylon 5 Magazine, Star Trek Magazine, and its successor, Star Trek Explorer, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics; and has edited several comic collections and graphic novels, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”, and Hancock: The Lad Himself, by Stephen Walsh and Keith Page.
He’s the writer of comics such as Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs”, with Dave Hailwood.
