Tank Museum and Commando team up, offering new collection and collectibles

The Tank Museum in Bovington has partnered with Commando Comics to produce a selection of tank themed merchandise, including a new comic collection, Commando Presents The Tank Collection.

Offering a rip-roaring collection of six classic Commando adventures featuring all things tanks, the book will be on sale exclusively at The Tank Museum until 10th December and you can order a copy here.

From the muddy frontlines of the First World War, when the monstrous, metal beasts first rolled onto the battlefield, to the skies of World War Two, with tanks dropping down into battle from gliders, this mammoth collection offers 400 pages of action‑packed storytelling.

This new book collects the stories “Tiger, Tiger” (first published in Commando 1401, written by CG Walker, art by Carrion, cover by Ian Kennedy); “Matilda on the March” (Commando 2259, written by Lomas, art by John Ridgway, cover by ian Kennedy); “Ironhide” (Commando 5315, written by Heath Ackley, art by Vicente Alcazar, cover by Keith Burns); “Frank the Tank” (Commando 5743, written by Brent Towns, art by Jaume Forns, cover by Marco Biachini); “Valentines’ Day” (Commando 1301, written by RA Montague, art by Ibanez, cover by KCG Walker); and “Flying Tank” (Commando 3608, written by Ferg Handley, art by Ricardo Garijo, cover by Ian Kennedy).

But that’s not all. Also on offer are several Commando collectibles, including two mugs with Commando cover art by Ian Kennedy (his covers for Issue 4801, “A Tiger’s Tail”, from April 2015 featuring a Tiger 1, and issue 3608, “Flying Tank”, featuring a Tetrarch, which fitted in a Hamilcar glider hence “flying”.
