Hachette Launches “Draw The Marvel Way” Part Work in January

Draw The Marvel Way #1 - Cover

Hachette, the British publisher of titles such as Doctor Who: The Complete History and Judge Dredd: The Mega Collection is to launch How To Draw The Marvel Way on 6th January in all good newsagents.

The part work – evocative of long-established comic creation guides such as How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way, still a handy guide to drawing action comics in my view,  offers a step by step guide on how to learn to draw like the greats of comic book illustration.

Each issue of How To Draw The Marvel Way will offer advice on drawing comics, from pencilling to inking and colouring. Learn tips and techniques to create the most gripping, fast-paced, action-packed comics with simple, easy-to-follow steps and a core element of basic drawing skills.

How To Draw The Marvel Way - Packshot

The first issue – which will launch at a bargain price of 99p – offers tips on drawing the likes of Spider-Man and Captain America and is presented in an easy-to-understand manner that will appeal to young, aspiring artists but also offers useful features that should appeal to older readers, with Brazilian artist Mike Deodato offering his tips on drawing, pitching for work and revealing his favourite Marvel superhero.

How To Draw The Marvel Way Drawing Kit

Collect as you go: a classic drawing kit

The part work will also enable subscribers to collect their own classic drawing kit, created with the help and advice of real Marvel artists and colourists.

This is a great primer for young artists keen to break into a competitive industry. Bear in mind that after the first issues part work titles go to firm sale, so you’ll either have to order it from your newsagent if you want to keep collecting, or subscribe – the latter offering the opportunity to win tickets for an upcoming Marvel film premiere.
