2024 Tripwire Awards Launched

Tripwire magazine has just launched voting in its 2024 Tripwire Awards – and anyone can vote in them to pick the winner among their latest nominations.

Tripwire has been championing American and British comics, for over 30 years, first in print and, since 2015, on the web. The team are very proud The Tripwire Awards is now in its sixth consecutive year, casting an eye over the brightest and best in comics over the last twelve months, as well as celebrating the legends of comics in a special Roll Of Honour.

This time around, nominations in eighteen categories have been carefully collated by Tripwire’s editor-in-chief Joel Meadows, with the judges consisting of Comic Book News UK’s Ben Williams, Mass Movement’s Tim Cundle, myself, John Freeman, as publisher of downthetubes, and The Convention Collective’s Leonard Sultana.

British talent among the nominees includes Rob Williams, Anna Morosova, Liam Sharp and many others, and, very kindly, Joel has included downthetubes in the nominations for Best Comics-Related Website / Publication.

Both BEANO and The Phoenix vie for your votes in the Best Humour Comic category, and Ian Gibson and Bryan Talbot are among nominees suggested to be added to the Tripwire Roll of Honour.

“It’s been another strong year for comics and we are excited to be celebrating that again while supporting the industry that has been so kind to us over the past three decades,” says Joel.

Nominations for the eighteen categories are open for people to vote on now, through to midnight 14th October 2024. The results will be announced at a special ceremony later in the year (date and details to be confirmed).
