MCM Manchester Comic Con is to grow to a two day show for 2014, event organisers have announced.
The move comes as advance ticket sales for this month’s Manchester event show a massive 138% increase compared with last year’s event – with hall space at Manchester Central already expanded, the 20th July show looks like being a record breaker.
“Consumers and exhibitors are backing MCM and we needed to respond,” MCM Expo joint managing director Bryan Cooney commented. “By making Manchester Comic Con a weekend event we are increasing the opportunities for everyone”.
“We are delighted that MCM Expo is returning to Manchester Central in 2014,” said Paula Lorimer, Sales Director at Manchester Central. “We are thrilled that the event is growing in size and success, adding another day to their tenancy next year, following huge demand from visitors. Manchester Central looks forward to welcoming MCM Expo for another successful show in 2014.”
The announcement follows MCM Expo’s unveiling of a brand new Glasgow show – the MCM Scotland Comic Con at the SECC on 7 September – and the news that their flagship MCM London Comic Con’s floor space is to expand from 25,000 m2 to 34,000 m2 when it returns in October.
The first two-day MCM Manchester Comic Con will be held at Manchester Central 26-27 July 2014.
