Auto Assembly 2013 – pre-registration for Transformers event closing soon

If you haven’t already booked your tickets for Auto Assembly 2013 then time is running out fast. You now only have one week to pre-register for Europe’s Largest Transformers Convention online and then after that point you will only be able to buy tickets on the door!

Comics guests include Simon Furman – the man who has probably created more of the Transformers mythos across different media than anyone else – and ace comic artist Andrew Wildman. Comic colourists Kris Carter, Jason Cardy, Liam Shalloo are also on the guest list, along with artist Andrew Griffith and Nick Roche.

Every year the queues to get into Auto Assembly keep getting longer and longer, and pre-registering is the best way to ensure that you can have the best shot at getting to the dealers tables early on each day and getting the best seats for all the guest Q&A panels! If you pre-register, you can collect your passes from 12.30 pm on Friday afternoon for full weekend ticket holders or from 8.30 am on Saturday or Sunday and then get instant entry to the convention when the doors open.

However, if you pay on the door, organisers tell us you will need to buy your tickets on the day and these won’t go on sale until 6.00 pm Friday for weekend attendees (when the Friday night programme begins) or 9.30 am on Saturday and Sunday once the doors open. What this means is that while all our pre-registrants are already making their way around the convention, you could still be at our Registration Desk or in a line waiting…!

John Freeman

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.

He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
