Want to help your Local Comic Shop out? Have a shop you’d like to support that isn’t local? Well, now you can – just by buying a copy of Image Comics Crossover #1 Gold Foil Ben Oliver Variant from the NICE comic convention web store.

If you do, convention organiser Jeff Chahal will donate £20 from every copy sold to the comic shop of the buyer’s choice.

Yes, that’s right – he’s going to give your Local Comic Shop for a comic they didn’t sell you. How generous is that?

Plus, all remaining revenue from sales of the book will be used to arrange more variants for UK bricks and mortar stores over the coming months.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
