Clarice Tudor creates comics for Lakes International Comic Art Festival

Clarice Tudor - How to Make Comics (Lakes International Comic Art Festival)

Liverpool-based comics artist Clarice Tudor has just launched the first of a series of comics created in partnership with the Lakes International Comic Art Festival with “How to Make Comics”.

The comics will appear on her Instagram, which has almost 60,000 followers, and Clarice will also be a guest of the Festival in October 2021.

Through comic strips that are both hilarious and vulnerable, Clarice is “taking ugly feelings and making them more digestible”, she told ItsNiceThat last year. She’s crafted a practice rife with original, jubilant and flawed characters – often playing the role of your wholesome, supportive friend, as well as people you’d rather not know. “They exist in an accessible absurdist world,” noted Harry Bennett, “coloured with a youthful wit that evokes the tone of Vine compilations and exhibits an opinion that is unapologetically her own.”

“I’d love to be able to devote more time to making comics and making you laugh,” says Clarice, who in addition to her Instagram, has a strong following on Patreon, where supporters can view exclusive comics and other items.
