The MancsterCon Independent Sequential Art Convention returns to Manchester in August, following a successful three day event last year filled with screenings, talks and workshops, cosplay catwalks and a host of local comic artists.

Taking place from 8th – 10th August at the Manchester Digital Laboratory on Edge Street for another weekend of comics, manga, animation and much more.

MancsterCon is a voluntarily-run organisation dedicated to bringing together the best of the independent sequential art scene in the North West. They organise seminars, artist meet ups and an annual convention through which we aim to highlight new talent in comics, illustration, animation and games.

A range of events has been planned, from craft workshops and cosplay competitions to discussions in comic studies and animation screenings.

They event organisers say they are still open for submissions from animators and have lots of space in the timetable for potential speakers. If anyone is interested, they can email mancstercon@gmail.com directly.

• Tickets cost £3 for the whole weekend and tickets can be bought in advance from the Eventbrite page here.

• For more information, you can follow MancsterCon on twitter https://twitter.com/MancsterCon or Facebook, or visit their website: mancstercon.wordpress.com; or track them down on tumblr. All enquiries can be sent to mancstercon@gmail.com
