The latest “Brain Sneezing” international cartoon competition has been announced, calling for cartoons with the topic “Alternative Quotient – AIQ” – “Artificial Intelligence in Cartoon Humour”.
Supported using public funding by the Slovak Arts Council, the competition deadline is 10th November 2025 and the results will be announced on the 20th November 2025. The first prize wins 500€, second 300€ and third, 200€.

The “Brain Sneezing” competition has been running for several years now – past winners can be found on the cartooneast.com website.
Past entries – all non verbal – are in a wide range of styles responding to various themes, some startling, many indisputably bizarre, but both winners and honorary winners are of a high standard.
Do note that this is a competition that works submitted “become the property of the organisers at no charge” (full terms below), so if you’re uncomfortable with this, don’t enter.
Competition Terms
- Each author can send maximum five original works.
- The competition is open to everybody and is not restricted in terms of artistic design methods.
- Required resolution of 300 dpi.
- The competition is non-anonymous.
- The works can be sent either online, by filling the electronic application form, or via regular mail, with each work signed on the reverse with the author´s name and their address.
- The rewarded works will become the property of the organiser.
The results will be announced on the 20th November 2025 and the winners will be awarded the following prizes:
The organisers reserve the right to publish selected works in promotional materials and to re-install the exhibition. The catalogue will be sent to each competitor whose works will be published in the catalogue.
The authors agree that their works become the property of the organisers at no charge, that copies of their works might be made and used in re-installing the exhibition in other venues and that their works might be published free of charge in order to promote the exhibition.
