Final issue of Collectors Gazette spotlights “Forgotten Comics Worth a Fortune”

The final issue of Collectors Gazette, cover dated October 2025, still on sale, includes an article by Gerald Edwards about the market for reprint Golden/Silver Age DC comics – specifically, the Atlas publications range.

The article gets cover featured, with an early Batman Comic (No 18) which gives a flavour of Gerald’s feature.

“This cover was changed by Atlas,” Gerald tells us. “They removed much of the blurb at the top right and added “and Robin” to the Batman logo. They only did this for a couple of issues, but it makes an interesting collectors item for the cover variant fans!”

Also in the issue, Alwyn Brice takes a trip through time in “What Was the Year?”, while Matt Nolan proves that “Size Doesn’t Matter” with big fun on small tracks. Step into toy history with “Harmless Fun”, the story of Langen and its toy guns of the early 20th century.

This month’s “Corgi Castings” showcase classics from the Ford Mustang to the Mercedes 300 SL, and Subbuteo table football is in focus in “Flick to Kick”. Plus, in “Titanic Teddies”, meet the remarkable bears linked to the legendary ship, and in “Collecting the Champions”, discover how Benson Bryan built a business from his love of vintage buses.

The Collectors Club of Great Britain recently announced the merger of Diecast Collector and the long-running Collectors Gazette, to create the UK’s ultimate monthly magazine for collectors of diecast models, vintage toys, tinplate, model railways, and more.

“This exciting merger unites two of the UK’s most respected collecting publications, allowing us to offer even greater value to our readers,” they explained. “Readers can look forward to enjoying the best of both magazines in a single publication.

The new-look Diecast Collector will feature a dedicated Collectors Gazette section in every issue, showcasing: vintage toys and tinplate, model railways, auction roundups, one ultimate price guide, market insights from trusted Gazette voices and emerging trends to spark new collecting passions.
