Tom Carter, one of the contributors to the Sonic the Comic: Reillustrated previously featured on downthetubes, sees his comic strip Guardian make its debut in the pages of Exciting Comics #56 this week, from US publisher Antarctic Press.

Tom joins fellow British comic creator David Broughton, the creator of Shaman Kane, as one of the talents Antarctic Press are currently promoting in their lineup.
Tom is a part-time freelance writer/artist and the appearance of his tokusatsu-inspired Guardian strip in AP’s Exciting Comics #56 anthology title is a milestone, marking his first professional publication.

Tom is the writer, letter and colourist on Guardian, drawn by Dika Budi, which sees young Zack West become host to a mysterious cosmic entity…
“Guardian is an original superhero comic made in the UK,” Tom teases. “When a mysterious alien symbiotic crash lands on Earth, it fuses with Zack and together they become Guardian, the newest superhero and defender of Earth.”
• Exciting Comics #56 is available from all good Local Comic Shops and online market places including Forbidden Planet (Affiliate Link) and Page 45 in the UK, and Comix Zone and DCBS in the US
