Diamond has its top selling US comic lists, and so do the big London comic shops and many others. So here at downthetubes, we thought it high time we had our own Top Ten Comics chart documenting top sellers in British comic shops.

But given our support of both the small press as well as the mainstream, we asked our own small but perfectly formed local comic shop, First Age Comics, if they would supply it.

They agreed, so this week’s chart, complete with some notes from co-owner of the store, Mark Braithwaite. Take it away, sir!

This Week’s Top Ten Selling Titles At First Age Comics (Week ending 22nd May 2015)

1) Convergence #7 (DC Comics)
2) Spider-Verse #1 (Marvel Comics)
3) Convergence Flash #2 (DC Comics)
4) Convergence Wonder Woman #2 (DC Comics)
5) Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars #1 (Marvel Comics)
6) Star Wars #5 (Marvel Comics)
7) Convergence Green Lantern Corps #2 (DC Comics)
8) Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor #12 (Titan Comics)
9) My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic #30 (IDW Comics)
10) Lumberjanes 14 (Boom Studios)

The Secret Wars/Convergence battle for the top spot continues but this time round Convergence #7 just pipped the Secret Wars tie-in, Spider-Verse #1.

With one more week of Convergence to go, reaction has been generally mixed. The nostalgic appeal of the series and the way newer readers have responded to the classic timelines has been positive however, and there has been a degree of relief from some quarters that things get back to normal with DC titles as soon as possible. The latest issue of Convergence certainly kicked things up a notch and things look set for a bumper final issue.

Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars #1 entered into the chart highly and franchise titles, Star Wars and Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor put in strong showings but couldn’t quite overcome Convergence tie-ins – Flash, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern Corps.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Lumberjanes demonstrate IDW and Boom! Studios current popularity amongst readers.
