Various members of the Edinburgh League Of Comics will be attending and selling their work at Thought Bubble in Leeds on the weekend of 14/15 November 2015 where they will all have tables in the New Dock Hall. The group was set up to allow creators from Edinburgh and close at hand to meet up and discuss their work.

There are more details about the Edinburgh League Of Comics on their website and Facebook page.

Filmish

Edward Ross is one of ELC’s founder members and will be on the SelfMadeHero stand as they are launching his new book Filmish – A Graphic Journey Through Film. As a film student and fan, Edward wrote and illustrated four issues of the original small press Filmish which were non-fiction graphic essays on various film subjects. He has now reworked and expanded these originals into one 200 page black and white softcover graphic novel dealing with everything from censorship to set design. Edward will be signing on the SelfMadeHero stand is in the New Dock Hall, Tables 90-92, and will also be talking about Filmish in the Royal Armouries Newsroom at 1210 on the Saturday (free for Thought Bubble ticket holders).

Lakes 2015 Aimee Lockwood

We featured Aimee Lockwood here on downthetubes about a month back in the run-up to the Lakes International Comic Art Festival where she had her first sales table at a major comics event. She was pleased with the sales of her various titles at Lakes including her colour anthology Food Chain. Aimee’s Trapper strip will be featured in the 2015 Thought Bubble Anthology. She will be sharing her table with Zuzu Dominiak who, Aimee tells us, makes great creepy black and white comics including the somewhat disturbing Human Pets. Aimee and Zuzu will be at New Dock Hall table 70.

Stephen writes and illustrates The Institute Of Marine Research (IMR) which is available to read for free on his IMR website and is currently on its third volume, while Ell’s webcomic, created with James D Parnell, is Galdr which follows the tale of Tandy Tynan Fogg in the city of Rivers Pass.

Finally Steven Ingram and Gemma Ingram are convention veterans who will be at New Dock Hall table 20, Stephen as Blurred Lines Comics and Gemma as Gemistryartworks.  Gemma is a digital artist whose work has a film and television theme, while Stephen will have his ongoing series Left about Sam Scott who thought that she had left a cult, known as The Community, behind until one day she received a letter and began to get the impression that she was being watched.
