Simon’s Cat set to storm US Licensing Expo (and his creator!)

Attendees at this month’s Licensing Expo in Las Vegas can look forward to a live drawing demonstration and meet and greet with award-winning illustrator, animator and director Simon Tofield, creator of Simon’s Cat.

Endemol Shine, who acquired a controlling stake in animation company back in 2015, has announced a series of events to be held at the Expo to celebrate the animated brand and give it a strong push Stateside.

“I am very excited to be coming to the Las Vegas Licensing show and share our stories with more cat lovers who see the humour in their own pets. We have lots of fans in the US and look forward to hearing from our wonderful audiences around the world,” commented Simon.

As if you didn’t already know, Simon’s Cat is an animated series featuring the mischievous and often hilarious antics of a fat white cat and his owner Simon. One of the most popular animated channels on YouTube, with over four million subscribers, it’s definitely a channel to subscribe to and has of course resulted in plenty of book publishing (over two million books have sold to date, in 30 countries) and over 250 consumer products, including games, which Endemol hope to increase further by raising the character’s profile in the US.

“’Simon’s Cat’ is truly a beloved brand globally,” says Tamaya Petteway, SVP Brand and licensing partnerships at Endemol Shine North America. “We’re developing a comprehensive consumer products strategy, and are eager to grow the brand’s remarkable footprint by creating incredible opportunities for brand and licensing expansion here in the US.”

• Animator and creator, Simon Tofield, will appear in the company’s booth #O252, May 23 and 24 between 2:00-4:00 pm. All Expo attendees are invited for a meet and greet, to see his live drawing demonstration and get autographed artwork
