Décor Books is a brand new website offering a collection of high quality modern and vintage books for interiors – sold by the metre from just £29.

The site is the brainchild of Lauren Giles, who has a long-standing love of books. A few years ago, she noticed the company she worked for regularly threw old books away – some over 200 years old – and was so sad to know they were just going to be pulped for recycling. She felt there must be a better way to use them and so bought a few books and sold them on eBay. Friends wanted them and things gathered momentum.

Now she has launched Décor Books, offering a huge range of vintage and antique books for sale by the metre.

”It is fantastic to see, in this digital age, that books remain as popular as ever and provide style, interest and ambience to rooms which could, otherwise, feel a little soulless or empty,” she says.

Décor Books offer a fabulous way to “dress your shelves” – build an instant library, categorised by colour, subject or style.

The prices are really reasonable, and who knows what you might get in your mix, which can include fairly recently published hard back books (released between 1980 – 90) for just £29 a metre, or children’s Vintage Books from the 1940s – 1960s for just £34.99?

There’s also antique Cloth Books (1850 – 1930)  from £48.75 and wonderful vintage Penguin and Pelican Books, published between 1940 -1960 – from £55.

Imitation books are also available with designs taken from original Victorian books, precision printed on quality bookbinder’s paper and mounted on a light weight but durable board.

Your new library awaits!
