Titan Comics has partnered with print and poster house Vice Press to create a Diamond UK exclusive cover for The Prisoner Issue #1.

This first-ever Vice Press exclusive cover for The Prisoner Issue #1 – designed by 2000AD and Star Wars movie concept artist, Chris Weston – is based on his original silk-screen poster created for Vice Press to mark the 50th Anniversary of The Prisoner hitting US TV screens.

As we’ve previously reported, Titan’s new comic series, licensed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment, is set in the world of The Prisoner – based on the celebrated cult TV series – from writer Peter Milligan (X-StatixDan Dare) and artist Colin Lorimer (The Hunt, Harvest).

First shown on Canadian and UK TV screens in 1967, The Prisoner was co-created, written, directed and starred Patrick McGoohan. Titan’s new unmissable comic comic series is released for the 50th Anniversary of the first US transmission in 1968.

Vice Press are a UK based print house focused on producing fully licensed art prints and screen printed posters for cult and mainstream properties from all manner of pop culture; movies, television, literature and games.

The company works with both up and coming and well-known artists from around the world alongside a number of studios, production companies and distributors to create unique illustrated pieces, prints and posters and media campaigns for theatrical and home releases.

The Prisoner is such an iconic, visual program with such a dedicated following,” said Creative Director for Vice Press, Matt Ferguson, “We were thrilled to be able to celebrate the 50th anniversary with this stylish poster by Chris Weston which marks the first in an ongoing series of releases dedicated to the show.”

“I’ve made no secret about how The Prisoner is my favourite television show of all time,” says Chris Weston. “I have always wanted to create my own artistic tribute to The Prisoner. Fortuitously, my friends at Vice Press offered me the chance to fulfil my lifelong ambition to create a loving artistic homage, timed to coincide with the show’s 50th anniversary.”

Titan Comics’ new series transports readers back to the mysterious village where everyone is a number, and Weston’s exclusive Vice Press cover is available only through Diamond UK.
