The regularly updated downthetubes “rolling list” of major British and Irish comic conventions and other gatherings and signings in 2025, intended as a quick guide to “What’s On”. We sometimes include illustrators events where we know comic creators will be present. Follow the links to event web sites for fuller details.
The growing size of this British and Irish comic events page has meant we have had to split our Exhibitions guide onto a new page on downthetubes and now present events by year – our 2026 Events List is here. Information on events and venues is always welcome.

Drink and Draw with Zen K, Shane Melisse and Mark StaffordGosh, 1.00 – 6.30pm Friday 31st October 2025
1 Berwick Street, London W1F 0DR | Keep up to date with all news over on the Facebook event page
Scribbles and Scares! Pencils and Peril! Doodles and Demons! Gosh are thrilled to present a very spooky edition of our monthly Drink and Draw event this October! Every month, along with our friends at Broken Frontier, Gosh invite three guest artists for evening of drawing at our local pub. This month, it falls on the sacred day of Halloween, the most important holiday of the year! So get along and join them on Friday 31st October 2025, from 6.30pm for a Halloween themed edition of Drink and Draw!
For this session, Gosh invited the terrifying Mark Stafford, the horrifying Shane Melisse and the fear-inducing Zen K! So excited for this one. Costumes are highly encouraged! And there may even be extra prizes for the team’s favourite.
So, what is a Drink and Draw? Well, it’s in the name! We’ll host an evening of drawing with our guest comic artists, all while having a few drinks together, alcholic and non alcholic. Mark Stafford, our resident cartoonist, will be a regular face at the monthly event, being joined by two guest artists every time.
Meet at Gosh! for 6.30pm, where they’ll be a chance to mingle with the artists and check out their comics, before heading over to The Royal George for 7pm. Once everyone has grabbed a seat and a drink, three short rounds of drawing, begin with each guest artist setting their own drawing theme.
Gosh! will have the artists work on sale and even have some prizes for their favourite drawings! The event will likely wrap up by 9.30pm, but staying afterwards to continue the fun is more than welcome.
Broken Frontier and ourselves have been running the Drink & Draws since 2015 and have been lucky enough to have had over 200 guest artists attend! It will be hosted by Broken Frontier’s wonderful Andy Oliver and Gosh’s Will Humberstone.
“We’re so excited to see some familiar faces again at our Drink and Draws, and hopefully some fresh ones too!,” say Gosh. “The event is free and everyone is welcome.
There will be limited seating available at the Royal George and seating will be prioritised to those who were at the shop first

The Casebook of Stamford Hawksmoor Signing With Bryan Talbot
Gosh, 1.00 – 2.00pm Saturday 8th November 2025
1 Berwick Street, London W1F 0DR | Facebook event page
The Badger is back… wait, no… the hawk debuts? Cartooning legend Bryan Talbot (Tale of One Bad Rat, Batman, 2000AD) adds to his Grandville universe with this prequel – The Casebook of Stamford Hawksmoor.
With top-hat and cane in hand, Scotland Yard’s DI Stamford Hawksmoor shadows the murky backstreets of London on the hunt for a sadistic serial killer.
In the dying days of the French occupation of Britain, through gaslit, cobbled streets and squalid alleyways, stalks the great eagle Detective Stamford Hawksmoor in search of the homicidal manic whose killing spree claims dozens of seemingly unconnected victims, from random murders to targeted political assassinations.
The deeper he delves, the more he puts himself in mortal danger, pitting himself against unknown antagonists whilst under the scrutiny of the feared anti-terrorist squad, and the more he is forced to resort to working outside the law.
A prequel to Talbot’s pioneering Grandville series, The Casebook of Stamford Hawksmoor is also an intriguing, labyrinthine stand-alone mystery graphic novel set in a world of hansom cabs and pea-souper fogs, where explosive violence can erupt at any second – and does!

A Garden of Spheres is a new story from the multi Eisner-nominee, Angouleme Prix Revelation winner, and famous frog artist Linnea Sterte. The world of A Garden of Spheres is a unique vision unlike anything else, a massive unabashed fantasy spanning generations following an immortal demi-god of destruction wandering through a land of deities and dragons.
A Garden of Spheres (book1) is 336 pages long, with duotone portions, and the other parts are probably the most stunning full color comics we’ve ever printed. This book is a once-in-a-generation kind of fantasy epic from a single creature that we rarely get in comics.

Baby Blue Signing With Bim Eriksson
Gosh, 6.00 – 7.00pm Monday 17th November 2025
1 Berwick Street, London W1F 0DR | Keep up to date with all news over on the Facebook event page
Artist Bim Eriksson is author of Baby Blue, a dystopian thriller about celebrating individuality and rebelling against societal pressures to conform. Set in a not-so-distant future where the State polices people’s emotions, this dystopian graphic novel explores themes of mental health, queer identity, and the dangers of unchecked fascism.
In the not-so-distant future, twenty-something Betty lives in a fascistic society that polices feelings. When her depression causes her to have an emotional episode in public, she is taken to an Orwellian health facility to “fix” her mental illness. There, she meets Berina, a fiery woman who opens her eyes to an alternative reality: The Resistance. If she can navigate a deviant underworld and band together with a queer, ragtag crew of resistance fighters, she just might have a chance to oppose the regime.
The English debut of Swedish comics artist Bim Eriksson, Baby Blue is a haunting dystopian thriller. Drawn in a delightfully twisted, sad girl style, and suffused with pop music and other cultural touchstones, this graphic novel feels fresh and contemporary. Ultimately, a bold and vital tale of queerness, love, rebellion, and the value of being different.

Bulgilhan Press x Glacier Bay Books – Double Launch Party – Testament and Baku Chan
Gosh, 7.00pm Tuesday 18th November 2025
1 Berwick Street, London W1F 0DR | Keep up to date with all news over on the Facebook event page
Gosh! is proud to host a launch party for two North American independent publishing giants, Bulgilhan Press and Glacier Bay! Both of these legendary outfits are on a rare foray into the UK for Thought Bubble Festival and have decided to launch new titles at Gosh! on Tuesday 18th November 2025 from 7-9pm.
Alongside their previous titles Bulgilhan Press will be launching Testament with J. Marshall Smith in attendance!
“Meet Testament: the premier caretaker android for the future. Not only were they designed to care for the well-being of dozens of interstellar passengers; explorers, scientists, poets, and artists – they have also downloaded millennia of religious texts and liturgies to best serve the members of a religious commune that make up the bulk of their human charges. These members of the Order of the Abundant Grace of the Cosmic Christ, having already chosen a monastic and scholarly life, are ideal for their mission: a one-way voyage to discover all they can about a miraculous far-flung planet capable of life and, by choice, not repopulate.”
Glacier Bay will be launching Baku Chan. Please note the author will not be in attendance.
“A devastatingly beautiful short comic about an immigrant tapir on Earth by the author of CHILDREN OF MU-TOWN (published by Glacier Bay Books, 2021). Baku Chan is a young tapir emigrated to Tokyo, Earth all the way from their home planet, the distant Star of the Tapirs. Once they arrive, they find Earth a strange and alien, yet somehow familiar, world full of surprises. With the help of their newfound friend Hana they navigate the various challenges, uncertainties, as well as the humorous and beautiful moments of their new life as an immigrant. Set in a world that’s a looking glass reflection of our own, and drawn in the wake of the escalating global politics of the 2010s, Masumura Jushichi’s timeless tale was awarded the 21st Japan Media Arts Festival’s New Face Award in 2018.”
