The campaign – which has already hit goal – offers the opportunity to bring your Quantum collection right up to date with Issues 9, 10, 11, and the brand new, long-awaited 12.

This campaign also makes available digital editions of each issue, plus four more art cards as a reward option.

As regular downthetubes readers know, Time Bomb Comics  Quantum anthology launched in April 2023, immediately marking itself as something special thanks to its availability through newsagents, alongside comic shops.

Aiming to be a mainstream comic with an indie ethos, Quantum brings together stories from across fantasy, horror, sci-fi and more into one great reading experience which matches the high production values Time Bomb fans expect. With matt-laminated, perfect-bound, cardstock covers, heavier interior paper stock to best show the artwork, and each issue running to at least 52 pages and four of five stories, Quantum fast found a passionate reader base.

The title went briefly on hiatus, partly while the dust settled on the sale of the WHSmith High Street operation, now morphing across the country into TG Jones, but is now back, all guns blazing.

New release Quantum No. 12 features cover art from the brilliant Norm Konyu, and features a complete tale of “WesterNoir, written by Dave West, with art by Mal Earl), the conclusion to Major Rakhana‘s fantastic adventure on Mars, written Steve Tanner, line art Roland Bird, colours by John Charles, lettered by Rob Jones, the latest episodes of Space Banshee Exorcist”, written by Katie Cunningham, drawn by Danielle Wiebe, and “The Strange Reappearance of Peter Thomson”, written by Dave West, with art by Gustaffo Vargas.

“It’s not a dream, a hoax, or an imaginary story – Quantum issue 12 is finally being published,” publisher Steve Tanner enthuses. “The digital edition is a Kickstarter exclusive, but printed copies will also be available via Kickstarter or in the shops.”

Earlier this year, Steve noted that consistent direct to newsagent sales had also been challenging, “with many readers telling us they just can’t get hold of a copy due to factors such as their local WHSmith closing, or nearest independent newsagents just not interested in stocking comics and magazines.

“Delays and lack of availability are frustrating for readers, but they also have a knock-on effect for us, as most of the revenue generated for the sales of the comic fund the advance costs needed to publish it. Basically, if we don’t receive it when we need it, then it creates a problem.

“So, rather than continue to swim against the tide, it seemed the sensible thing would be to get out of the water for a while, which would help put us in a better position to continue publishing Quantum rather than not publish Quantum at all.”

Well, the wait is over! What are you waiting for?
