Cartoonist Lew Stringer, the creator of Combat Colin and Tom Thug, and a much appreciated support to downthetubes, has some more original comic art up for sale on eBay.
Art on offer from Lew, now largely working on new original strips of his own, including a short series of new “Brickman and Trowel” strips for an upcoming new comic, includes two fun “Daft Dimension” strips first published in Doctor Who Magazine Issues 614 and 619 respectively.
Bidding on all art items on offer closes on Sunday 28th September 2025.

Lew is also selling his original cover artwork for for his self-published Combat Colin No.5, and, as a bonus, he’s adding the actual printed comic as well.

Plus, check out this “Tom Thug” page from Buster cover dated June 13th 1992. Artwork that’s over 30 years old and still clean and fresh, is on offer, in a story that sees Tom grow a pony tail!

“The Nineties, eh?” Lew says. “What were they like?”
Hang on… I had a pony tail! Grr…

After recently completing three “Dinah Mo” stories that will appear in The Dandy Annual 2027, which will be published next year in September 2026, Lew is largely focusing his energies on his own comic creations, while continuing to draw “Daft Dimension” for Doctor Who Magazine.
In the works is Brickman No.2, which may be published before Combat Colin No.6, as more work is needed to be done on the latter, which will be a ‘giant size’ issue, with more pages.
As ever, you can follow his work on his blog for updates
Plus, don’t forget you can buy copies of his comics here on his Kofi store, if you haven’t already!
