PARAGON has been publishing for over 15 years, with 30 regular issues along with collected compendiums. In recent times, Davey has published PARAGON thanks to crowdfunding support, but this time around you can order your copy now from Davey via a Paypal link included with this PARAGONComic Blog Post.

“If you grew up in the UK in the 1970s and 1980s, you probably bought a comic such as 2000AD, Eagle, Battle, Victor or Action from the local newsagent,” Davey notes. “PARAGON is a continuation in that vein of regular characters in stand alone stories or multi part adventures and this issue has three of our regular creations appear.”

In PARAGON No. 36, featuring a striking a colourful cover by artist, percussionist and Flâneur Nick Raybould, check out the latest tale starring Captain Winston Bulldog, written by creator Jason Cobley and illustrated by Joe Ahern, the anthropomorphic defender of the skies above Blighty – returning in the first part of a longer classic tale, “Bulldog on Mars”!

Sadly, Joe Ahern passed over twenty years ago, this strip from the Bulldog archives.

“Joe’s muse beat to a differing drummer, a classic left-hander,” comic creator Paul H. Birch notes, “sometimes his work was just very nice, then at others he was in a 2000AD superstar class.”

PARAGON 36 - Jikan Chronicles, written by Mark Howard, drawn by El Chivo and lettered by Filippo Roncone

The ongoing “Jikan Chronicles“, written by long time scribe Mark Howard, drawn by El Chivo and lettered by Filippo Roncone – tales of the time-travelling demon-hunting samurai – are building to an exciting climax. This issue, our hero is distraught after mistakenly attacking his centuries old friend Merlyn and trying to cope in his own hellworld in the aftermath…

Paragon 36 – Spencer Nero

Plus, there’s a special double length story this issue for Spencer Nero, the British agent with an ancient mask that gives him special powers, who finds himself up against the Crudies, as, once again, he tries to punch, thump and batter his way to victory!

The regular team of script writer Greg Meldrum, artistic talents of Scott Twells and lettering guru Filippo Roncone bring another adventure to life in this 13-pager.

Not to be missed!
