Titan Magazines has snagged the rights to Plants vs Zombies, a hugely popular mobile game, growing a list of titles that already inlcudes Adventure Time, Simpsons Comics, Totally…, Transformers Comic and more.
The new title is juist one of several Plants vs Zombies licenses announced by Bulldog Licensing, including collectable sticker albums and a range of bedding based on popular gaming app.
Titan will launch a Plants vs Zombies magazine, while Magic Box will develop a range of collectable sticker books. Character World is also set to release a homewards range including, bedding, curtains and rugs.
The Plants vs Zombies gaming app has enjoyed global success running tio miilions of downloads. When it was released on 15th August, Plants vs Zombies 2 soared to top spot in the App Store in 137 countries, becoming the most successful mobile game launch in the history of brand owner, Electronic Arts.
You have to think fast and plant faster in the game, placing a variety of plants around your house to protect it from a steadily encroaching zombie horde. Each one of the zombie-zapping plants has its own special powers and it takes a mixture of strategy and quick thinking to keep the fun-dead mob at bay.
“These deals see Plants vs. Zombies expanding into three new sectors, which shows once again just what a strong brand it is with a reach that far transcends the digital,” said Bulldog MD Rob Corney.
“This is thanks to a huge fan base that is waiting to snap up anything related to this phenomenal property.”
