Total Extermination: The Peter Cushing Doctor Who Collection

Coming in June, Severin Films release Total Extermination: The Peter Cushing Doctor Who Collection, Blu-ray or 4K UHD “Mixed Region” editions available to preorder.

Fans of the films who already own copies can also buy the limited edition slipcase for this release separately – details below.

Dr. Who and the Daleks,

At the height of Dalekmania, producers Milton Subotsky and Max J. Rosenberg bought the rights to the original black and white BBC-TV serial first featuring the Daleks created by Terry Nation for the Technicolor movie adaptation. In Dr. Who and the Daleks, when his time-travel phone box TARDIS is accidentally activated, eccentric inventor “Dr. Who” (Peter Cushing) – along with granddaughters Susan (Roberta Tovey), Barbara (Jennie Linden) and her bumbling boyfriend Ian (Roy Castle of Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors) – are transported to the planet Skaro, where they’re caught in the middle of a war between the benevolent Thals and evil Daleks.

Directed by Gordon Flemyng this 1965 sci-fi favourite, which, according to Critical Popcorn, “feels like a comic strip brought to the big screen with bold colors and an upbeat, adventurous tone”, is newly scanned in 4K from the original Techniscope 35mm negative by StudioCanal with over six hours of Special Features.

Dr. Who and The Dalek Invasion of Earth

The Daleks are back in Dr. Who and The Dalek Invasion of Earth – and more brutal than before – in the “impressive work that delivers all-out adventure with refreshingly little messing about” (Eye For Film). When the TARDIS travels to 2150 A.D., Dr. Who along with his niece Louise (played by Jill Curzon), granddaughter Susan (again played by Roberta Tovey) and policeman Tom Campbell (Bernard Cribbins, the Doctor Who BBC-TV series’ future Wilfred Mott) – discovers that humanity has been enslaved by Daleks. As a rebel force of survivors battles the metallic invaders, can the Doctor save the last of London from total extermination?

Andrew Keir (Quatermass and the Pit) co-stars in this “endearing sequel with excellent action scenes” (Empire) also directed by Gordon Flemyng, also newly scanned in 4K from the original Techniscope 35mm negative by StudioCanal with over four hours of Special Features.
