The latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine on sale now, Issue 615, not only includes its regular comic strip – a fantastic one-part story, “No Signs of Life” from Alan Barnes, Martin Geraghty et al – but a surprise full page strip based on a character in the forthcoming new series of Doctor Who.

The one-off strip, written by Jason Quinn, drawn by Lew Stringer, ties in with “Lux”, the second episode in the new series of Doctor Who, written by Russell T Davies, directed by Amanda Brotchie.
Lew was sworn to secrecy about the tie-in strip, additional to his usual “Daft Dimension” cartoon, which this issue features the Zarbi.
“He was a fun character to draw,” says Lew of “Mr Ring-a-Ding”, an animated character that takes on a sinister role in the TV episode. Lew created his own font to complement his art, which evokes the era of the “Betty Boop” strips.
A tie-in novel to the episode by James Goss, Doctor Who: Lux, will be published along with an Audio CD edition, on 10th July.
Doctor Who Magazine No. 615 is available now from Local Comic Shops, WH Smiths, Asda, Tesco and Panini direct.

Launching 12th April worldwide, on the BBC in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere, in the new season The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) meets Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) and begins an epic quest to get her back to Earth.
