Egmont’s ‘All About Sonic the Hedgehog’ launches today

(Updated with comic credits): Egmont UK’s new All About Sonic the Hedgehog magazine lands in newsagents and other outlets today.

The magazine, aimed at children aged between six and ten, is available for £3.99 and contains facts, games, puzzles, things to make, and two comic strips, as well as interviews with Sonic and Dr. Eggman.

Although Egmont previously originated its own Sonic comic strips for its previous Sonic comic, the material in this new title is sourced from Archie Comics Sonic Universe title, the two strips written by Ian Flynn with pencils by Tracy Yardley on both, with inks by Terry Austin on one and Jim Amash on the other. Matt Herms and Josh Ray, who runs Stingray Grafik Wurks, provide colour and some lettering.

The 36 page All About Sonic the Hedgehog also includes tips and cheats for the new Sonic Lost World game, two giant posters, a disc-shooter and 100 stickers.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.

He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
