Artist Junko Mizuno created the standout poster image for the 2019 Lakes International Comic Art Festival and the event’s official podcast has a chat with her as part of their latest episode. Junko was originally born in Tokyo and her self taught style is based mainly on 1970’s and 80’s Japanese pop culture.
Podcast hosts Ian Loxam and Nikki Bates discuss her upbringing and life in Japan – and how she got her break into the world of comics.
They also review Junko’s book Ravina the Witch as well as Rachael Smiths Stand in Your Power and Sarah Lightman’s The Book of Sarah. Mike Williams continues his look into Dungeons and Dragons in comics and Tom Stewart reviews Russell Mark Olsen’s The Black Iris. Pete interviews Adam Smith for the 2nd time from Mixam.com about printing in the United States and the services they now offer to creators.
