Engage! Star Trek: Panel to Panel comics podcast launched

Jeremy Bement, host of the masterful Doctor Who: Panel to Panel podcast has launched a new one in a similar vein – about Star Trek comics.

Star Trek: Panel to Panel (of course!) is all about Star Trek comic books and the first episode features a chat with longtime writers Scott and David Tipton, talking about Spock: Reflections, published back in 2009.

Spock - Reflections

A Vulcan, on Romulus? Absurd! Or is it? In the follow-up to the Star Trek: Countdown film prequel, we discovered what could drive a man to abandon all he knows and go to live with the Federation’s sworn enemy, his real motivations, and how he looks back at what brought him to this place in his life.

Spock - Reflections TPB

Spock: Reflections story is just one of many projects from the brothers and writing team with many Star Trek comic credits for publisher IDW Publishing.

Scott, who enjoyed the interview, is also a comic historian, maintaining the website Comics 101 where he provides weekly articles on the history of comics; and author of the Star Trek: The Original Series reference Star Trek Vault: 40 Years From The Archives, published in 2011.

When asked how the brothers divide writing duties, they once responded by saying “Scott writes the nouns and David writes the verbs, and for everything else they flip a coin.”
