UK-based licensing agents Reemsborko have added Lupin the Third to their portfolio of characters for the UK, joining Dragon Ball, Cannon Busters and more to their merchandising opportunities, in partnership with rights holders TMS.

Lupin the Third is the grandson of the fictional Arsène Lupin, the original gentleman thief, and one of the most famous and wanted crooks in the world. A ruthless criminal with a sense of humour and a weakness for beautiful women, he is constantly pursued by Interpol’s Zenigata and often accompanied by a group of not-so-faithful accomplices, as he attempts some of the most outrageous thefts of all time, or deals with the many, many people holding a grudge against him.

Created in 1967 by manga artist Kazuhiko Katô (under the pen name Monkey Punch) it has spawned a multi-media franchise, encompassing six animated TV series, seven full length theatrically released animated films, two live action films, multiple music CDs and soundtracks, stage musicals, and video games.

The animé series have been heavily rotated on Funimation and Cartoon Network, and new content is still being produced. The first CGI feature film is due to be in cinemas worldwide later this year.

Reemsborko is a small agency focusing on narrative content across all visual media for fans of all ages, currently representing Bill and Ted (all three films), Cannon Busters, Dragon Ball, Junji Itô Collection and Hatsune Miku.

“It’s really great to be working with TMS, representing the best of Lupin the Third,” Max Arguile of Reemsborko commented. “This classic animé property is still delivering new content that will drive consumer products to the fans.”

“We are very excited at TMS to team up with Reemsborko to bring all the swagger and allure of the Lupin family to European fans old and new,” added Cinzia Mariani, Vice President at TMS Paris.

“Do keep an eye out for our gentleman thief!”
