Original painted artwork of a Thrillsucker from 2000AD trying to suck up a little potato-man version of artist Massimo Belardinelli is currently up for sale on eBay, alongside two pages of Doctor Who comic art by Mick Austin, from the same seller.

The Thrillsucker art, measuring approx 23.5cm x 30cm on thick paper, was drawn as a gift for then 2000AD editor Steve MacManus, combining paint and airbrush techniques which Massimo, who died in 2007, would go on to master in style in his later surrealist paintings, created after his time working for British comics.
The artwork was purchased directly from Steve MacManus a few years ago, and is on offer for $500, alongside two pages of art from the Fifth Doctor Doctor Who comic strip “4-Dimensional Vistas” , a story that also featured the Ice Warriors and the Time Meddler. Both pages appeared in Issue 82 of Doctor Who Monthly, published in August 1983.
Now known as Michael J Austin, Mick has been a professional artist since 1981, who started his career in comics, where he produced artwork for Marvel and 2000AD, and was also a features artist for the Sunday Times from 1985 – 1992.
