Herne Books is to publish the first ever Women’s Football Fan Yearbook, illustrated throughout by AFTA Studios, a guide to the top women’s teams in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The title, the format echoing football annuals of yesteryear but with a thoroughly modern look, will be released for Christmas – and in time to celebrate the beginning of the 2025/2026 WSLseason, but you can pre-order your copy now.
Written with the help of fans from all around the country, including David Moloney, this unique book will help you get to know the unique history of each team, memorable moments and favourite players, statistics, what to look forward to in the 2025-2026 season, and an essential guide to how to watch each team and what to expect at the games.
The Yearbook covers all 24 teams in the WSL and WSL2, all 10 teams in the SWPL, all 8 in the ADRAN Premier, and all 8 in the NIFL Women’s Premiership. There’s a full list of fixtures for the 2025-2026 season, and a Team Tracker for you to record all the key details of your team’s progress – scores, scorers and weekly league positions – in the weeks and months ahead.
“Women’s football has never been more exciting,” say the publishers, “and the best is yet to come!”

“I’ve spent a large part of the last six months researching and writing the text of this,” says David Moloney, who’s also curator of the archive comic site, Great News for All Readers, who also compiles an engaging newsletter for Spiritual Books publisher DLT Books. “There’s so much drama and history in club-level women’s football in the UK, and so little of it widely reported, so here’s an attempt to draw some of it into a single book, for fans to learn more about their own team and each others.
“It’s a book full of facts and anecdotes, stats and matchday advice for fans of all the top clubs in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. I’ve tried to capture a little bit of the unique culture of every team, with the help of fans from all around the country.
“It’s a little bit football annual, a little bit Rothman’s Yearbook, a little bit Roy of the Rovers, and there’s even a full season fixture list and a Team Tracker chart. A great gift, especially for new fans of the game following the Lionesses’ triumph at the Euros!”
