Preorders open for The Curse of Frankenstein 4K Limited Edition, London premier date announced

Hammer Films most ambitious release in their Limited Collector’s Edition Range, The Curse of Frankenstein – which includes a version of the House of Hammer comic strip adaptation of the film written by Donne Avenell, with art by Alberto Cuyas – is calling for a spot in your collection.

“This is the film that changed horror forever,” says Hammer of their new 4K restoration. “Peter Cushing’s ruthless Baron, Christopher Lee’s haunting Creature, and the gothic revolution that made Hammer a household name.”

To mark the release, a world premiere of The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), meticulously restored in breathtaking 4K from the original film elements in collaboration with The Warner Archive Collection, will take place on Wednesday 1st October 2025, at the prestigious Vue West End, Leicester Square, London, the location of the Warner Theatre, where the film originally premiered in May 1957.

This Hammer Films Special Event will give fans the opportunity to see the 4K restoration ahead of its Blu-ray release, starring the legendary duo of Peter Cushing as Baron Frankenstein and Christopher Lee as the Creature, performing together on screen for the very first time, and experience Hammer’s first colour horror, which redefined the genre and established Hammer’s signature gothic style that would change the face of horror filmmaking forever.

As a fitting finale to Hammer Films’ 90th anniversary year, this milestone celebration honours the studio’s enduring legacy, also features an immersive reception and live Q&A.

A limited number of tickets are available here, along with the announced dates so far fore the nationwide screenings of the film in select cinemas across the country, later this year.
