Hammer Films have announced that their next Limited Collector’s Edition, Quatermass 2, can be pre-ordered at the end of the month.

Just like their previous releases in this new Limited Collector’s Edition Range, Captain Kronos (now sold out), The Quatermass Experiment and The Four-Sided Triangle, this release comes with a host of extras, including, in partnership with the BBC, all six episodes from the original BBC television series, never before available together in the same set,
For comic fans, there’s a digest version of the comic strip adaptation of the film by Steve Parkhouse and David Lloyd too, first published in Halls Of Horror #23 in 1978, edited by Dez Skinn.
In Quatermass 2, a series of meteorite showers falls near a top-secret government facility, and Professor Bernard Quatermass is drawn into a mystery with terrifying implications. What begins as a scientific inquiry soon reveals a covert alien infiltration, spreading silently beneath the surface of official research.
As the conspiracy unravels, Quatermass races against time to expose the truth – before an otherworldly force changes humanity forever…
Quatermass 2 was released in UK cinemas just weeks before Hammer’s landmark horror, Dracula. While Dracula went on to steal headlines and redefine gothic horror, Quatermass 2 made history of its own, solidifying Hammer’s reputation not just in horror, but in bold, intelligent science fiction.
The studio’s decision to release two genre-defining films in such close succession showed a remarkable level of ambition – and it paid off. The success of Quatermass 2 proved that audiences were ready for darker, more adult-themed sci-fi, just as Dracula proved the same for horror. Together, they marked the true beginning of Hammer’s golden age.

The new Quatermass 2 Limited Collector’s Edition, due for release 14th July 2025,:is surely a must have for any Hammer fan, full details here on the Hammer Films official site. Not only do you get various iterations of the film itself, but a ton of extras, too, physical and digital, including eight art cards featuring facsimiles of the original US cinema lobby cards, and a sixty-page reworking of the comic strip from Halls of Horror by Parkhouse and Lloyd, who would go on to create Night Raven for Marvel UK, again for editor Dez Skinn.

Extra digital material includes gems such as “The Legend of Nigel Kneale: Enemy from Space”, in which Toby Hadoke continues his investigation into the truth behind the legend, in part two of a brand-new two-part documentary; and “Doubling Down: Uncovering Quatermass 2”, a close look at the making of Quatermass 2, with contributions from Jon Dear, horror author Stephen Gallagher, Toby Hadoke, Wayne Kinsey, Andy Murray and Stephen Volk. Original promotional trailers, foreign titles, a Super 8 cut-down version and the original BBFC censor cards for Quatermass 2 also feature; and, as you’d expect, an extensive image gallery of stills and publicity material, alongside tracks from James Bernard’s memorable score.

An item on the Hammer Films website. The short-term and long-term impact of the seminal six-part serial is relatively well-known. Tales of pubs emptying and streets becoming deserted before the start of each new episode have become as familiar as campfire stories. The production is now deemed so significant that its ramifications are covered in media courses…
