The Doctor Who Appreciation Society (DWAS) will publish the tenth Celestial Toyroom Annual on 23rd November 2025, a celebration of the Fifth Doctor, played on screen by Peter Davison, featuring a cover by Carolyn Edwards.

Previous annuals looked at a specific Doctor’s era, and the Doctor Who Appreciation Society Annual 2026 offers a guide to the Fifth Doctor. It comes packed with story critiques, features, an interview and fiction. It includes contributions from artists Andrew Skilleter, Colin Howard and Andy Lambert, author Paul Scoones and many others.
A full-colour, A4, 178-page print-on-demand edition of the Annual will be available to order from 23rd November via the DWAS website, with a free downloadable version to follow on 14th December. There will also be a Christmas story featuring the Fifth Doctor available as a free download from the DWAS site on 30th November.

Among the many features, Paul Scoones, author of The Comic Strip Companion – The Unofficial and Unauthorised Guide to Doctor Who in Comics: 1964-1979, has contributed an overview of the Fifth Doctor comic strips published in Doctor Who Monthly 1982-1984. This includes “The Tides of Time” (DWM 61-67), “Stars Fell on Stockbridge” (DWM 68-69), “The Stockbridge Horror” (70-75), “Lunar Lagoon” (DWM 76-77), “4-Dimensional Vistas” (DWM 78-83), “The Moderator” (DWM 84, Doctor Who Magazine 86-87).

Outside of the ‘classic’ Fifth Doctor era, Paul also looks at “The Lunar Strangers” (DWM 215-217), “Blood Invocation” (Yearbook 1995) and “The Curse of the Scarab” (DWM 228-230). Comic strip panels illustrating the overviews have been supplied by Panini Publishing Ltd.
An appreciation of “The Tides of Time” by Nick Smith is also included in the Annual.
