New Ghost in the Shell scheduled for July 2026

Ghost in the Shell is a series revered by fans worldwide, and continues to have an impact on creators across borders and generations. Now, in conjunction with the opening of the first-ever Ghost in the Shell exhibition “Ghost and the Shell”, currently being held at NODE Tokyo, it’s been announced that the latest TV anime production of Ghost in the Shell will be airing in Japan starting July 2026.

The very first key visual and promotional video have also been released.

The first key visual and original artwork from the series is currently on display at the “Ghost and the Shell” exhibition.

The musical producers for the new series have also been announced. The musical director is Taisei Iwasaki, known for composing the score for Ryuu to Sobakasu Hime (Belle), which won a Japan Academy Award for “Best Music”.

In addition, Ryo Konishi, who served as the music director the Osaka World Expo and produces for artists such as Chara+YUKI, Mrs. Green Apple, TOMOO and more, will be collaborating with U.S.-based composer Yuki Kanesaka, who produced the music for TV anime Dr. Stone.
