
Doctor Who Magazine Special 73, on sale from Panini soon, revisits the 1996 Doctor Who TV movie and honours Paul McGann’s extraordinary tenure in the role.
While his TV appearances have, so far, been limited to, the incarnation has enjoyed a considerable number of appearances in other media, particularly in audio adventures from Big Finish, and in various Doctor Who comic strips.
Exclusive interviews include Paul McGann himself, Daphne Ashbrook, who played movie companion Grace Holloway, Eric Roberts (the Master), the TV movie’s director Geoffrey Sax, Steven Moffat, writer of The Night of the Doctor, and many more.
There are also contributions from Sylvester McCoy (the Seventh Doctor) and the team behind the new 4K restoration of the movie, due for release soon, available on Blu-ray and DVD, as well as a limited edition steelbook version.

Other highlights include a new short story by Matthew Jacobs, the writer of the TV movie, and an afterword by Philip Segal, its executive producer.
(Matthew was also writer of the Big Finish audio drama, Puccini and the Doctor, included on The Eighth Doctor Adventures: Deadly Strangers).
