Avery Hill Publishing has announced its Autumn 2026 graphic novels lineup, which includes a special 10th Anniversary Edition release of I Love This Part by Tillie Walden introduced by Heartstopper creator Alice Oseman.
Also on the way are John of the Night by Darryl Cunningham, Another Realm by Kristyna Baczynski, and Under Ismyre by B. Mure.
I Love This Part by Tillie Walden
Out on 30th September, the 10th Anniversary Edition release of I Love This Part by represents Tillie Walden’s slice-of-life graphic novel story of two girls and the moments of their lives that lead up to them falling in love.
Two girls in a small town in the United States kill time together as they try to get through their days at school. They watch videos, share earbuds as they play each other songs and exchange their stories. In the process they form a deep connection and an unexpected relationship begins to develop.
In her follow up to the critically acclaimed The End of Summer, Tillie Walden tells the story of a small love that can make you feel like the biggest thing around, and how it’s possible to find another person who understands you when you thought no-one could.
Tillie Walden is a cartoonist and illustrator from Austin, TX, and a graduate of the Center for Cartoon Studies. Tillie’s first book, The End of Summer, was published at the age of 18 by Avery Hill.
She has since published Eisner-nominated / Ignatz-winner I Love This Part and Broken Frontier Award-winner A City Inside with Avery Hill, and her Eisner Award-winning ice-skating memoir Spinning with SelfMadeHero. 2018 saw her Eisner-nominated webcomic On a Sunbeam published in a widely-acclaimed graphic novel format.

John of Night by Darryl Cunningham
Ahead of that re-release, Avery Hill publish Darryl Cunningham’s latest graphic novel, John of the Night, on 2nd September. The Kickstarter campaign for the book is launching soon.
A scientist races against a god‑killing cult, cosmic collapse, and his witch‑queen ex‑wife to save creation – even if it costs him the person he loves most.
At the centre of all creation lies Far Eternity, where universes converge and reality is kept in balance. Scientist John of the Night and his daughter Aysha uncover a plot by The Perfection – a fanatical cult – to kill God and reboot the “flawed” multiverse into something supposedly perfect. As if that’s not enough, Medea – Aysha’s mother and a witch‑queen with a flair for drama – plans to sacrifice her to recharge her magic and avert an invasion. Darryl Cunningham is the cartoonist creator of numerous books published internationally, that include Psychiatric Tales, Science Tales, Supercrash, Graphic Science, Billionaires: The Lives of the Rich and Powerful, Putin: The Rise of a Dictator, and Elon Musk: American Oligarch.
“Darryl is a true legend of UK comics and one of the best there’s been at creating non-fiction comics,” notes Ricky Milker. “He is always on the right side of every subject matter that he’s written about, be that economics, politics, or Elon Musk! Another Realm by Kristina Baczynski
Another Realm heads to bookshops on 21st October, offering a luminous journey through the worlds, wonders, and warm‑hearted imagination of Kristyna Baczynski.
The boom is a vibrant, career-spanning celebration of the work of British-Ukrainian illustrator and cartoonist, bringing together her acclaimed graphic novel Retrograde Orbit with a rich selection of her self-published comics and illustrated zines.
This collection showcases Baczynski’s unmistakable visual voice – pages alive with colour, emotion, and intricate characterisation. Kristyna Baczynski is an illustrator, comic book artist, and author who grew up in the Pennines of Yorkshire, in a family from the Carpathians of Ukraine. She lives and draws in Leeds, England.
“Kristyna Baczynski has long been one of my favourite comics creators, a real jewel in the UK comics scene,” Ricky Miller enthuses. “I’ve been picking up her comics for years, long before we published her graphic novel Retrograde Orbit.

John is the founder of downthetubes, launched in 1998. He is a comics and magazine editor, writer, and Press Officer for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He also runs Crucible Comic Press.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine and Overkill for Marvel UK, Babylon 5 Magazine, Star Trek Magazine, and its successor, Star Trek Explorer, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics; and has edited several comic collections and graphic novels, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”, and Hancock: The Lad Himself, by Stephen Walsh and Keith Page.
He’s the writer of comics such as Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs”, with Dave Hailwood.
