This week’s Commando set – Issues 5987-5990 – sees the return of Sergeant Rayker and his team as they continue their journey through war-torn Europe, and tells the story of a French Resistance cell struggling to know who to trust as the Gestapo closes in.
This latest set features scripts from two returning writers to Commando.
Dr. Simon Topping, who’s scripted Commando 5987: Sergeant Rayker: Retribution, is again putting his academic research about African-American soldiers in World War Two into use, previously seen in “Rayker: Back in The Ranks”, released back in June.

Robbie MacNiven, writer of Commando 5989: Resistance!, is a Highlands-born author and freelance journalist, who has written a number of books for Helion and Osprey Publishing, and also writes science fiction and fantasy novels, including Conan for Titan Books, as well as producing game scripts and audio dramas. He is well known for his Carcharodons novels Red Tithe, Outer Dark and Void Exile, as well as the Warhammer 40,000 novels Oaths of Damnation, Blood of Iax, The Last Hunt and Legacy of Russ. His work for Warhammer Age of Sigmar includes the novel Scourge of Fate and the Gotrek Gurnisson novella The Bone Desert.
