Talking of Kickstarter, congratulations to Amrit Birdi, whose campaign to bring his legion of fans his latest anime graphic novel, The Sorceress at the End of Time 1 & 2, was funded in just 46 minutes. An anime-inspired fantasy about fate, memory… and a destiny written among the stars (“Think Final Fantasy x Interstellar” he pitches), you can still back it here.
More Crowdfunding News: Tripwire is running a campaign for the Sherlock Holmes And The Empire Builders Calendar 2027, a handsome looking publication featuring the art created for their Sherlock Holmes and The Empire Builders graphic novel series. It features art from the likes of industry legend Walter Simonson (Manhunter, Thor), Dan Panosian (Conan, Batman), Frazer Irving (Batman, 2000AD), Eisner award winning artist Laurence Campbell (The One Hand, The Sword Of Hypoborea), Mark Chiarello (Batman The Last Halloween) and Shawn Martinbrough (Thief of Thieves). The campaign also includes a calendar featuring the art of popular UK comics illustrator Frazer Irving, too. The campaign is running now, ending later this month – a Christmas gift for Sherlock fans, perhaps?

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine and Overkill for Marvel UK, Babylon 5 Magazine, Star Trek Magazine, and its successor, Star Trek Explorer, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics; and has edited several comic collections and graphic novels, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”, and Hancock: The Lad Himself, by Stephen Walsh and Keith Page.
He’s the writer of comics such as Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs”, with Dave Hailwood.
