2000AD’s Dan Dare – in Spanish!

Dan Dare Issue 2 - Spanish

Hibernia Comics has posted another great Dan Dare find on their Facebook page.

Featured here are Issue One and Two of the 1970s Spanish Dan Dare comic, reprinting the 2000AD stories. Both  covers are by Spanish artist Josep Maria Miralles.

Contents of the comic include, along with Pat Mills and Massimo Belardinelli’s “Dan Dare”, “The Harlem Heroes”, “Flesh” and “Black Hawk”.

British comics have a long history of overseas reprint of course, which not only includes strips reprinted in foreign languages across the globe but also comics ghosting the format of the British originals. Eagle, for example, has an Australian edition and TV21 was published in Holland as TV2000.

Hibernia have also turned up a Brazilian version of 2000AD; here’s the cover of Issue Three.
