Independent publishers, Invisible Six, are one of many comic creating teams attending this years’s International Comic Art Festival in Kendal this weekend, with writer artist Brian Gorman here to promote EVERYMAN: A Celebration of Patrick McGoohan & The Prisoner.
2017 sees the 50th anniversary of The Prisoner TV series, with celebratory events across the globe. The show was first screened on ITV in 1967 and became an instant cult classic.
An action adventure series that broke the mould, and continues to fascinate. Starring Patrick McGoohan, the series was ground-breaking, profound, psychedelic, and gained an international following.
Brian Gorman’s book, EVERYMAN: A Celebration of Patrick McGoohan & The Prisoner is a graphic novel adaptation of Brian’s highly-acclaimed one man stage play, and was recently launched at the annual Six Of One Prisoner fan convention at Portmeirion. There is also a brand new audio production available now on CD.
Invisible Six are selling copies of EVERYMAN, as well as Brian’s previous graphic novel, BORDERLINERS: True Realities. Original art will be on view, with limited edition prints for sale.
The Lakes International Comic Art Festival is taking place this weekend (13th – 15th October 2017) in Kendal, Cumbria, celebrating great comic art from across the world. It is the only one of its kind in the UK, taking over the whole town of Kendal, on the edge of the Lake District, for a weekend.
The festival features comic artists from around the world, as well as performance, film, exhibitions, comic trails, workshops, master classes, live drawing and independent retailers and publishers.
Brian Gorman is the writer of the hugely popular stage play NEW DAWN FADES: A Play About Joy Division & Manchester, and is currently performing in a new one man play; ONE MAN BOND: Every Bond Film In 60 Minutes.
Invisible Six Managing Director, SM Worsey will also be on hand to discuss the company’s output.
